New term learnt
vss - voluntary seperation scheme
mss - mandatory seperation scheme

Eskay,

vss - means voluntary. Anyone can apply for it.

mss - means mandatory. If you are selected, you have to go. However, there is compensation.

retrenchment - layoff. There might not be compensation at all. Like the Qimonda case.

Jen, one of the neighbour company is having this. And it's the first time I heard about the term mss. That's why just jot down at my blog. ;)
