Christmas 2012 from Little Rainbow

This year Christmas not much celebration due to my "condition". Nevertheless, me and my hubby went out for a nice and long movie "The Hobbit". The movie is not bad in my opinion, just that why oh why, must it be a trilogy? Meaning, after this movie, for the next 2 years, I will have to catch up with it else it will be wasteful watching the first part.

Christmas gift
After the movie, we went in search for our presents. Hehe.. His is .... "secret". But very practical, and he seems to be very proud of his "no wasting" lifestyle. But for me, as every girl out there, we like something which might not be very practical (like we have a lot of it already but we still never seems to get enough, eg: bags, shoes, jewellery etc).

8 different lotion. <3 br="br">
After walking around the spring shopping mall for nearly 2 hours, I finally decided on my gift. And it is Crabtree & Evelyn hand lotion. :) Since it's festive season, there is a lot of promotion going on and all the gifts are pack and wrap up nicely.

I would like to wish all my readers a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Logos Hope in Kuching 2011

As usual long outdated post.

I really forgot when did Locos Hope came to Kuching. The following was taken when we went to visit Logos Hope during the first week.

Luckily the queue not too long

Luckily we went there early. Because during the last few weeks when I tried to visit the book ship, the queue was so so long that when we first take a look, we decided to leave and go to Popular book store at Tun Jugah.

Life Float

Price

In the end we bought 4 books and I must took a photo to show that I did visit the largest book ship and snap a photo with the sign.

NTV7 Yuen You Hui (园游会)

Yup, I went to the ntv7 Yuen You Hui that was organized in Kuching around... err... End of July? Or beginning of August. The photos were still in my phone until Hari Raya + Merdeka holiday, when I have time to retrieve all my photos and started blogging.

Personally, I always saw from the tv how they mentioned we can have free gifts, a lot of games to play, and it's a thing not to be missed? Well, frankly I'm disappointed. When I arrived, there's not much activities going on. And the only free gift I manage to get is a gigantic recycle bag, which I use during weekend for my shopping. And a photograph with one of the ONE FM DJ, whose name I don't recall, but you can see his face on TV.

Semperoper or Semper Opera House @ Dresden

Semperoper Dresden

Not only one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world, the Semperoper is renowned both here and abroad for the brilliant star-studded performances by Saxon State Opera as well as numerous international guest artists. This is the home of the Staatskapelle Dresden, an orchestra which looks back on 460 years of uninterrupted music-making.

In fact, when I knew that I will be going to Germany, the first research that I had done is to find out all the available orchestra and booked in advanced before going there. However, this caused me to pay a total of EURO 28 for a ticket while my friends who decided to see last minute paying EURO 22 only (Discounted price last minute)

First went there and saw this handsome guy and showed him my online ticket.

After that I walked around and explored Semperoper and take some photos. The interior design of the Semperoper is simply amazing. It's literraly mouth-opening experience for me. It's just like stepping into a grand palace.

Finally it's time for the orchestra. Before the start of the orchestra, the following is my self-shot photo.

The theater room is simply .... how should I put it, big, spacious, well lighted and beautifully decorated. It's totally worth paying for the ticket and listen to this orchestra. The orchestra that I chose is just one single guy performing on the piano. Total 4 pieces. The funny part for me is that after each piece, the guy will stand up, and listen to all the audience clapping, then went inside the backstage, and the clapping continues.

After he went in, he went out promptly and still the clapping continues until he is seated on his piano.

After the second piece, he will went in and out, then in and out again twice, while all the time, we had to continue clapping until he is ready for his next piece seated at his beloved piano.

And this went on for the 3rd and 4th pieces (meaning he went in and out, in and out, in and out following the sequence of his piece). Now I understand how an orchestra with 4 pieces of solo piano can last for 1.5 hours. It's indeed an eye opener for me. A culture shock in fact.

Nevertheless, I'm super satisfy as I meet one of my goal in life while I'm still at my 20's, which is to listen to a life orchestra. Next goal, listen to a full orchestra which consists all the musical instruments which are the woodwinds, brass, percussion, and strings.

Details of the orchestra that I attended: (There's total of 7 , Matinee I to VII, but I attended only Matinee I)

Happy Weekend

I had a happy weekend. Although I need to come to work on Saturday morning, but luckily it's only half day as there is another engineer on duty that day. After that went to Hopoh to eat KFC and collect Ah Phui's new spec.

After that drove around Kch and saw the banner showing 1st Kuching Expo 2010 at Hills shopping mall. So we dropped by Hills and just leisure there while taking our time to see the exhibition.

I like the decoration for this pedicure booth

Someone performing on the stage

Another thing that made my day was that I received two presents. Two new necklaces for a small anniversary. Hehe..

Then on Sunday night time went to Jalan Song Peach Garden for our dinner. Two people eat only but we ordered 5 dishes.

Another dish porridge still hadn't arrive when I took this photo.

Try a new popiah today.

After that went One Jaya for a walk while trying to digest off the food. I heard a few comments from my friends about the shops here selling quite reasonable price clothing so I went there for a motive to shop if I managed. In the end I do manage to buy the following after walking around for an hour like that. Too bad I cannot extend my window shopping anymore as my driver is sick with flu + fever. Hope he recovers soon.

Halloween @ 2010

Google's logo for Halloween today....

Halloween (or Hallowe'en) is an annual holiday observed on October 31, primarily in Canada, Ireland, the United States and the United Kingdom. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holiday All Saints' Day, but is today largely a secular celebration.

Common Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, wearing costumes and attending costume parties, carving jack-o'-lanterns, ghost tours, bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, committing pranks, telling ghost stories or other frightening tales, and watching horror films.
