I really forgot when did Locos Hope came to Kuching. The following was taken when we went to visit Logos Hope during the first week.

Luckily we went there early. Because during the last few weeks when I tried to visit the book ship, the queue was so so long that when we first take a look, we decided to leave and go to Popular book store at Tun Jugah.

Looking Back Year 2011

A lot of big incidents happened in the Year 2011. In short I categorized it as one big great happy new, one big sad new. The saddest thing that happened in my life was that my beloved grandmother passed away this year. I can still remember that is the day I cried the most. Although I had always been closed to my grandma, I wish I could have spend even more time with her. Now that she left us forever, all the great memory I had with her will stay with me forever. Grandma, I'm glad that you are besides our Lord and do not have to suffered anymore.

Good news for 2011, I guess most of you who know me all know about it. It's the new chapter of my life as Madam. Lol... Well, some people might consider marriage life as not-so-good-news. Well, some people did say marriage is love's cemetery. Regardless, I think we should always see things in the positive way. ^_^

Other things to remember for year 2011 is as usual travel to Krabi, changing department, but still at the old company (sigh), had my first own Coach bag and bought a new smartphone. That is all I can remember now. I will add to the list when I remember. Hehe..

Saw this cute hello kitty bag one night after dinner at Tabuan Jaya. I wouldn't lie and tell you I'm not attracted by this bag. When my eyes were catch by this bag, I'm really tempted to buy this bag. I was thinking, "If this bag is with RM1x, then I will grab it, pay for it, and leave the shop with that bag".

But when I saw the price tag, I had a small shock of my life. This small hello kitty tote bag actually cost RM29?!!?! A bag made of clothes/cotton which resembles Hello Kitty actually cost this much? Well, needless to say, in the end, I curi-curi took this photo and left the bag back at the shelf and walk away empty handed.

Besides that, I saw this cute bear pouch while eating at Tabuan during Sunday afternoon after church on Christmas day. Since this one is cheap, only RM2, I decided to buy it. Lol.. This post is backdated for 2 months. My mum birthday was in Oct. My sister and I decided that to have dinner at My Restaurant.

And guess what, it's my first time dining at My Restaurant. Lol... Stay in Kuching for so long already but this is the first time I went and eat there.

The food there is not bad but then the pricing is also categorize under "once in a while" dining place. The following are all the dishes that we ordered that night.

Today really "hen bu sun" arhhhhh!!!

Really pissed off by the late afternoon due to a lot of different issues.

Sometimes I really do wish I can take a super duper long holiday and get away from all the "fan" things. Luckily tomorrow is Friday. Then it's Christmas holiday. It means Monday will be a public holiday, then I take Tuesday off, so total 4 days off.

Yahoo!!! Looking forward for a relaxing holiday.

The Secret Sanctuary @ Kuching

Secret Sanctuary is situated at Taman Stutong Indah in Kuching Sarawak. It's actually a boutique hotel and offers a variety of rooms with nice spas and restaurant that provides tropical retreat.

The boutique hotel is not very big, but it has all the thing you need. My sis and I (together with our man) decided to have dinner here one night to celebrate my sister's promotion.

I'm surprise with the interior design. It's really like you step into a tropical forest with the waterfall besides a bridge when you walk in, and colourful fishes along the small river, with nice flower trees around. If I have the chance, I would love to try on the spa here.

However, the food is a disappointment. Maybe the food we ordered is simple, but if you compare the price with other restaurant for the same dish, I would rather eat at other restaurant as the taste will be much better.

Bought a new Electrolux vacuum cleaner (Listo) end of August during all the Merdeka and Hari Raya promotion. It cost me RM199 for this small little baby, but I have no regret. It sucks up all the dust and hair and particles like a pro. Now I understand why people are willing to invest in this rather than conventional broom stick.

Saw this super cute and adorable bag from Carlo Rino "Awfully Sweet" collection from Parkson recently. This bag truly catch my attention when I was just window shopping. It's a new arrival and priced at RM409, with 10% discount if you bought at airport, since it's the Hari Raya promotion.

However, I didn't buy it because when I went to the carpark to go home on the same day, I saw a young lady taking this exact same bag. I'm a person who really dislike having the same thing as other people, so although my initial urge to buy this bag is 80%, after seeing someone has it, the urge drop to 40%.

So, time to scout for new design.

Yup, I went to the ntv7 Yuen You Hui that was organized in Kuching around... err... End of July? Or beginning of August. The photos were still in my phone until Hari Raya + Merdeka holiday, when I have time to retrieve all my photos and started blogging.

Personally, I always saw from the tv how they mentioned we can have free gifts, a lot of games to play, and it's a thing not to be missed? Well, frankly I'm disappointed. When I arrived, there's not much activities going on. And the only free gift I manage to get is a gigantic recycle bag, which I use during weekend for my shopping. And a photograph with one of the ONE FM DJ, whose name I don't recall, but you can see his face on TV.

New Tarot Cafe @ Simpang Tiga

Just found out that there is a new Tarot Cafe opposite the Spring in August, so my gal friends and myself arranged a girls night out there one Saturday before I went for my Krabi Trip middle of August.

It's a nice environment, however, the disadvantage of this Tarot cafe is that it's open air, so, no air-conditioned room and when the weather is hot, it's humid and mosquitoes are around. Otherwise, it's a nice place for chit chatting.

Basically the menu here is the same as the Tarot Cafe at Jalan Keretapi. Taste almost the same too. So, for those who love to come to Tarot Cafe, now you have a second choice.

Harajuku Japanese Crepes

The next two days was spent walking around at Sungai Wang, Ikea and IPC. Nothing much to elaborate except I bought some and watched a movie The Priest at GSC.

However, one of the stuffs I would like to introduce is the Japanese Crepes. Saw the advertisement at the TV when passing through there. But didn't buy anything at first. Then has a fight with Ah Phui, on the way back Ah Phui try to make me happy so bought this for me. Lol...

So many choices to make. It's kind of difficult to choose the one you like. But in the end I choose the one with chocolate cake and banana. Not bad. Just the crepe a bit soft. Price wise, a little bit expensive.

Pink luggage

After Genting trip, our bus stopped at 1Utama. As we are still full from the buffet lunch previously, we decided to skip our dinner and head back to our hotel. By that time my legs feel like crumbling, can't really walk anymore.

But on the way to walk to another side to hail a taxi, we spotted a luggage shop. One of the thing on my shopping list will be luggages, which my mum decided to give us for our gifts. Since the price is within budget after discount (70%!!), we brought back these two new babies.

Mine: Bright cherry pink, His: Fugly chocolate colour (I choose one, haha)

The picture didn't really show clearly the colour of my luggage. Basically it's the same bright cherry pink of my longchamp bag. Haha...

Genting Day Trip

This is the 1 day Genting package that we bought: RM47 per person, which includes the bus ride from 1 Utama to cable car, cable car ride to Genting, Theme park ticket OR buffet lunch, cable car ride and bus ride all the way back to 1 Utama.

We reached Genting around 9.30 as we departed from 1 Utama at 8am. Since Ah Pui is bringing a backpack and backpack is not allowed inside the casino, we decided to walk around for sight-seeing first, then go for lunch buffet, then only go into casino, where we will deposit the backpack in the storage available at RM3.

Walked walked around. Bought some nail polish and a pair of sandals. Finally it's time to go for buffet. The buffet is superb there. There are lots of variaties to choose from, nyonya, chinese, western, japanese, western asian, fruits and desserts. However, most of the photos will be in Ah Phui's camera. I only took the photo of the dessert.

Lastly, after buffet, went in the casino and start playing for 4 hours. Make me lost RM30 there. Sigh~ I even dreamt about betting and winning some cash enough for me to buy my branded bag during the bus trip but in the end I still need to spend 30 ringgit without getting anything.

In case you are wondering why we choose buffet lunch instead of outdoor theme park, the following picture will explained why.

First dinner at KL is actually this "Tapao" zhi ling chicken rice set. As we can't wait to go to the hotel to take bath already, so we basically just tapao the food and bring to hotel to eat that night.

And I'm proud to say that I choose the correct food to tapao. It's really nice and quite popular too as I kept seeing people queuing up to buy the fry chicken only. Or maybe it's just my hungry stomach that made me had the illusion that the food is super nice.

Yumm Yum.. They even got side dishes of cold taufu at the side.

Coca Cola Can Glass

The first thing we do when we touched down at LCCT is to find a McDonald shop and sat in there had some snacks while waiting for our bus to arrive. Finally, I had my own Coca Cola Can Glass from McD, Happy happy!!

I am actually aiming for the blue colour one, but what to do. Fate has it that I will ordered McD on 19-May when I'm flying over to KL and thus, the glass is pink colour.

Well, sorry for disappearing from the blog world as I was taking time off to go for a short trip at KL for the weekend.

Didn't really bought much this time but I managed to buy all the stuffs in my shopping list. One of the things in my shopping list is the fake longchamp bag that I'm drooling about for some time.

Finally, it's mine. Hehe.. Bright pink colour. My mother commented when I showed her the bag, "Another bag?? Pink colour? Get dirty easily lah" @_@

2011 Mother's Day

This year mother's day is slightly different than previous years. Why is it? That is because this year, I need to celebrate twice.

First is lunch celebration at Li Garden, Hock Lee. The main purpose of going there is to try on the roasted duck, which is very famous. But I didn't ate too much of the skin as it's fattening. But the meat cooked with XO is nice.

The second celebration was at night, dinner with my grandparents as well. That night the main dish will be the Semah Fish sponsored by my sister's Hubby. The meat of the fish is equivalent taste Empurau according to my sister. Frankly speaking I'd never eaten any Empurau fish but Semah is the nicest I had eaten up to now. The meat is so tender and if it's cooked Teochew style, Halleluyah.

If any of you wishes to buy the fish, you can contact me and I will see if there's any stock. Since my sis's hubby is doing trading, the price is cheaper compare to market. Then you can bring the fish to the restaurant and ask them to cook it for u. Confirm cheaper price than ordering the fish from the restaurant.

Longchamp bag

The following is one of the series for Longchamp, which is call Le Pliage. In my opinion, I think it's trendy and super versatile. You can bring this bag to any places and will still be "in".

However, the real Longchamp bag is super expensive in my opinion for a simple canvas bag. But I can't deny I'm falling in love with the bags. ;)

So, conclusion, I don't think I will indulge in getting a genuine Longchamp, but there is no harm in investing is a fake one. Lol... I saw quite a few around at the shops here and some of it was priced as low as RM39.90.

Will be going to KL soon. Maybe I will open my eyes big big and try to spot one with pretty design and pretty price tag too and kidnap it back with me. Hehe....

Boulevard Pet Show

During Easter weekend, we went to Boulevard to buy Dynamo (Yes, it's our main purpose of going there, since Dynamo 4.7kg selling at RM19.90 only). Does we sound like old couple already?

But instead, we got a free tropicana twister orange juice 275 ml each for free!! Yay!! Untung lah, got free fresh orange juice. I think it's their promotion and the shelf life of the orange juice is 6 months only.

After we bought what we want, besides Dynamo, add in 3-5 stuffs which are not in our grocery list, and all mine T__T, we saw some exhibition going on by SSPCA.

But I only take photos of the reptiles!! Lol....

All are our ancestor dinasours immediate family. Lol... Personally I won't have one of this as my pet and definitely won't allow anyone to rear this as pet in my household! It's nice and excited to watch for a while, but for long term, no thanks, I prefer to look at photos.

I went to Hills Shopping Mall on Saturday and saw this "van" when I walked over to Parkson to watch a movie "The Roommate". Personally, this is the first time I ever saw this van in Kuching area, thus, I can't resist taking photo of it.

SPRM - Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (I remember this name from Nga Kor Ming's speech in Kuching last time: Malysia has a new tourist place, and that is SPRM)

Decorated in such a colourful way too. Since Hills is having Bridal's fair that day, I was snickering, wordering is it because one of the suspect is actually the boss/taukeh of a certain show.

On Saturday, we planned out our plan. First we went to have breakfast , after breakfast, we will head straight to the Spring and booked our ticket for the movie Thor.

However, this MBO at the Spring really sucks. Their program is updating and thus we cannot reload our membership card with enough money to watch the movie. So, we try to buy our ticket at the counter there. But this very fat manager and their little girls, would not allow us to buy the ticket at membership price even though we have the membership. Their only reasoning is that buying from counter must use the original price, if use membership price, they have to top up the extra RM1 by themselve. Personally I think their service and management has some issue here. Or they are just plain uneducated/stupid as they can't think logically.

So in the end we didn't go watch movie, we go shopping instead. And I bought 3 polo shirts from F.O.S. Guess how much is it? Haha.. You won't believe the price I bought it.

After that, we went to see an exhibition by MBSB, a semi-goveernment company provided very basic services like a bank such as bank account, fixed deposit and house and personal loan.

The normal bank account provides 2.25% of interest per annum. And for kid's account which they named it as Chicky account, the interest is 2.5% per annum. Which in my opinion is higher than normal bank outside. However, the only disadvatage will be there's no atm machine available, thus making the transactions can only be done at their office which is located at Satok.

Since there's nothing much to do after that, we decided to leave and went to Hills instead.

Lunch today, I decided to try out the new Fish Head Noodle besides 456 kopitiam at Stutong near 1TJ there.

The place is clean and neat. But then the price of the food is not cheap. The one we ordered are fish slice with noodles. Ah Phui's is clear soup, while mine is evaporated milk soup. :)

Slurp slurp. It's yummy.. I never regretted it. Just that the price of this set of meal is RM8.50 each. A bit pricey in my opinion. Well, it's once in a while treat, so, ok lah.. hehe...

The sad thing is that they dont realized that the longer they keep at it, in the ultimate long run....they are "killing" themselves. The day of reckoning will come and history will be re-written on how Malaysian fore-fathers failed the nation. The intent may be good, but the execution and policy has been a disaster.

The clear and present danger

If the Doomsday prediction never comes true, New Zealand will remain as picturesque after a hundred years, with cows and goats roaming all over the country sparsely populated by humans.

A hundred years later, Singapore 's foundation will remain rock solid. The tiny city-state will continue to lure new immigrants, and many new-generation Singaporeans will see their lineages traced back to those of migrants.

How about Malaysia a hundred years from now?

Lee Kuan Yew did not seem to see things that far. He only set his sight 20 years later.

He said all constituencies in Malaysia would be dominated by the Malays in 20 years' time, and the leadership in this country would value the Chinese population less and less.

The Chinese population would continue to slide, he added, not because of the pathetically low fertility rates among the Chinese in this country, but because those who could afford would have sent their children overseas, who would decide not to come back.

"And those migrating to Malaysia will be from Islamic states, making the country's Islamisation inclination more and more pronounced."

Statistics don't lie, and the current political and social ecosystems are not here without a reason.

MM Lee's predictions are by no means novel. But his well-thought remarks have touched the hearts of many a Malaysian.

If this is what the country should look like 20 years from now, we can imagine Chinese Malaysians to be like apes in a forest sanctuary a hundred years down the road, where we need to sharpen our eyesight to carefully scan through the entire swathe of forest before we can catch a glimpse of one or two of them.

That comparison is, most certainly, exaggerated, but I really hope we will not be reduced to a rare species by then.

The ratio of Chinese population in this country has been on steady decline over the decades; so has their political status here. Very soon, they will be completely engulfed by the powerful waves of aggressive Islamisation.

This is the pessimistic side of the outlook of their destiny.

But Chinese Malaysians cannot afford to go on this way, and wait helplessly for such a destiny to befall them.

They have to take the initiative to accentuate their own strengths and be in firm control of their own fates before they can divert such a predestination.

The next ten years will be key to the future destiny of Chinese Malaysians. If the country's policies get more and more ethnically-oriented and religiously inclined, the future of Chinese community is well within our imagination, and Chinese Malaysians will exit the country in droves.

On the other hand, if community-centric ideologies get diluted, conflicts between mainstream and minority races get thinned down, the common Malaysian identity gets consolidated, and the spirit of secularity stays very much relevant, then Chinese Malaysians will have a much more promising future here.
So will Malaysia .

Whatever happens to this country or our society, the most important element for new-generation Chinese to secure a place in this land, will be their very own competitiveness.

In this age of globalization, when national boundaries are increasingly obscured, people will find a greener pasture beyond our shores if our internal conditions remain this bleak.

We cannot afford to talk about what will happen to us a hundred years from now. We need to buck up and fight for our near-term opportunities.

Meaningless and unnecessary squabbles, like the one currently taking place within MCA, will only serve to bog down the pace of the Chinese community further, blurring their vision of the clear and present danger.

What the Chinese community urgently needs right now is high-caliber and farsighted leadership, not one engrossed with endless infighting.

Super Kiasu, after dinner, went to the Spring again with my brother to try the Sushi King RM2 Bonanza.

But looks at the queue, it's so long. I q for 45 min. =(

Ok, check the time when it's our turn. The clock showed 8.25pm.

Then as usual hand-picked all the expensive sushi. But looks at that orange sushi, at first I thought it's salmon, but turn out it's not! Feel cheated!!

Near the end of the 45 min (The usual 1 hour time frame you are allowed inside sushi king during bonanza was cut short to 45 min only), the real salmon sushi is finally out. Can see the difference from the photo? Real salmon has more "fine lines". Lol...

The total that all of us ate. I think averagely i ate 3-4 plates only.

Checked the time again after sushi, it's 9.10pm. Within the time frame of 45 min.

In the end the total bill came out to be RM62.65 for 5 persons. Not too bad considering that I manage to eat unagi, baby octopus and salmon. Hehe..

Dear Friends and Readers of this blog,

Sarawak will be having it's election this Saturday, 16-April. This is the time when we, as the rakyat, decide our own fate. Sometimes we complained, our life sucks, our work sucks, our pay sucks, our infrastructure sucks etc. Why is it that we complained so much?

That is because our life is hard! We complain our life sucks, because our pay sucks. Is it really that our pay/salary sucks, or is it the inflation and over-the-roof pricing sucks? Ask yourself, at western country, a person with 3k monthly salary can live without any stress, but here, what can we do with 3k per month? We bought our car at the price of RM50k (Myvi only) but at western country, you can bought a very good + branded car at merely 30k. The housing here priced at RM300k (Terrace only) but oversea a very good house costs merely 100k.

Why is all this happening in our country? Because of corruption. A house can be build at the price of 100k, but sold at 300k, because the rest of the money you need to "supply" to certain "party" in order to get the house on the market.

One of the world richest man is actually receding here in Sarawak. His property, I cannot even count the number of zeros available. One will guess that a man with such wealth will at least 'donate' some for charity for the benefit of those less fortunate, but NO. This person's greed knows no boundary.

Thus, everyone, remember this 16-April, vote wisely. Every single vote counts. Do you want to change your life for the worst, or better?

Program Penempatan Pekerjaan 2011 @ Hills

Last Saturday, we went to the Hills Shopping mall and saw there's an exhibition around. At first our intention is to see the dog show, but it turned out that the dog show is on the next day, which is Sunday, instead of Saturday.

During the time we arrived, I think they just finish officiating the exhibiting by some Datuk. A lot of ppl with uniform was walking around and escorting some important looking persons, which in my opinion, has minimal interest in all this.

Guess the election is this coming Saturday, all those ministers are working hard, finally. People of Sarawak, choose wisely when you vote. Every vote counts, thus, cast your vote wisely.

EHS week

Our company just had our EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) week on the last week of March. The organization organized a small quiz for all the employees of the company.

I took the quiz and submitted another on Ah Phui's behalf. The result was out last week, guess what?! I won a RM20 kfc/pizza voucher. Lol...

Total RM40. Yay!!

But one of my colleague did comment that they should had given out other vouchers instead of KFC/Pizza and this fast food is not beneficial to our health.

Germany Trip

One of the goals in my life is to listen to an orchestra live in some European country. And my dream came true when I went to Germany for a business trip during September 2010.

When I knew I had the chance to go euro, I started planning out the things I wanted to do. I listed down 4 stuffs I would like to do, which are

1. Visit the wineries and breweries tour, and go wine tasting
2. Listen to a live orchestra
3. Experience Oktoberfest (Munich & Dresden)

4. Visit museums and park (Please just search under label Germany)

Basically I strike out #2,3 and 4. For #1, I think it's only half of it, although I did manage to try different beers and wine, but I didn't mange to visit any wineries/breweries. Well, basically that sums up my Germany trip. ;)

Thursday noon time, I decided to go KFC has my lunch instead. Since someone is buying my meal, I think hey, since that morning was so hectic, why not have a nice lunch to set the mood back to good.

Unknown to us, while we are having lunch, a bunch of young looking kids, wearing a 1 Malaysia T-shirt, came in and started giving out 'red packet' to us.

The red packet. I heard about this free giveaway from a colleague already but I never really experience it. Finally I had my own red packet.

The red packet actually contained 1 A3 poster of our current PM (for the coming Sarawak Election) and 1 beautiful Tupperware. The only thing attracts me is the tupperware to be frank.

Nay, the Tupperware. If you really don't like the 1M logo, you can peel it off. It's just a sticker sticking on the bottle.

To make KFC more competitive, KFC actually copy-cat McDonald's Lunch Treat and come out with a lunch package at RM5.95 (exactly the same price as McD's value lunch) at the same time frame, which is from 12 to 3pm.

I was attracted to the radio announcement on My FM, (I overheard the word 'corns'), so I decided to try out this special lunch treat one afternoon.

Ya, you guess correctly. Spring KFC. The value lunch I ordered was Set A, which consists of that white container + drinks. The snack plate was Ah Phui's lunch.

I had been aiming for a Banana Taipei for a while. Last year I was not able to buy one as it's out of stock before I managed to make a booking. And this year, I'm going to get a Coach so I postpone the owning of this bag again. Besides, the price increase to USD64.99 now, plus with delivery fee USD20, that will be USD85 in total for a canvas bag with the hermes bag printed on it. Which in my opinion, is a bit overpriced. Another reason why I choose Coach in the end.

However, last weekend I went shopping with M and while we are fascinated by all the different stuffs the shop managed to find all over the world, I spotted this!

A Banana Taipei bag appeared while I sit down on a stool waiting for M. I was shocked at first to see this bag.. Then I went and checked on the price, only RM48?? Then I look carefully at the tag again, it's Banaie Taipei. Lol.. Fake one lah...

Extreme Super Moon 19-March

According to astronomy, this 19-March will be consider as "Super Moon" time. It's the time when the moon is at the closest to the Earth. According to some myth, it's during to this "super moon" that caused the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami that nearly swipe off Japan and caused so many pain and sorrow to Japan.

I have to admit recently the weather is totally unpredictable in Kuching. In the morning it's hazy and super cloudy, but lunch time the hot sun is blazing without mercy. By the time when you get ready to go home, the sky is leaden by dark clouds and it looks like 7 pm instead of 5pm.

Makes me wonder what is 'really' going to happen this Saturday. Lol.. A hurricane hitting Kuching? Or flash flood as all the water level is going to be 'attracted' upward due to gravity of the moon.

My breakfast

My lovely breakfast prepared by Da Phui. He is the one who is very particular about having a good and hearty breakfast. No matter what happened, he will have to eat a nice breakfast with his kopi 'peng' only then will he be satisfied.

On the other hand, I'm totally the opposite. I don't mind skipping my breakfast. I loved my sleep more than my breakfast. Which resulted in my bad habit of sleeping until the last min in the morning then only will I wake up in a rush and go to office. A habit that I learn during uni time when my parents are not living with me. =P

But now that my stomach has accustomed back with breakfast every morning except Sunday, I will start to feel dizzy by 9 or 10 am if I didn't eat anything. But then I'm still not willing to change my habit of waking up at the very (VERY) last minute. Nothing can be sacrifice when it comes to my beauty sleep.

After hearing the news yesterday about Japan 8.9 earthquake, it's the headline all over the news today. When I watched the video where the water sweeping through the land at Sendai and sweeping through all the houses, cars, etc, my heart tighten itself for a while.

The scene was scarily the same as the scene of 2012, the end of the world when the world was flooded with water and there is no way to run. I do wonder sometimes, how will it feels when the water gushes over and drown you, do you suffer for a very long time before you finally pass out and die just like that? Or the split second feels like a lifelong and you can have flashback of your life before you finally pass out? It's scary.

I remembered how when I was small, I used to cry at night when I think of death. I feel so powerless against it. But somehow when I grew up, I forgot about my fear and live life as it is without sparing death a single thought. I guess when I'm growing older, this fear of mine will slowly creep up and challenge me once more.

Celebrated my grandmother's 80th birthday during the 3rd day of CNY at the "Shin Long Sheng" besides Swinburne University. Ya, I know, it's March now. As I said, I'm busy with my personal life at the moment to really take care of my blog. =P Maybe I will be able to update more frequently by April.

I received a shocking news early in the morning even before I managed to sit on my chair. For a minute or two, my brain was totally blank. I wasn't expecting this news. I always thought that somehow he will still be able to make it, comes back to Kuching, maybe we can still have a small chit chat.

But no, when it's the person's time to go, there's no stopping regardless how hard you try to hold on. Life is fragile.

With that, I would like to reinforce my objective in life: Enjoy life to the fullest. You never know when is the day going to be your last breathing day on earth. And when death touches you, do you leave with regrets or smile because you have achieve everything? I surely hope for the latter one.

May he rest in peace. His guidance and memory will always be with us.

Went to check out the new Magenta at the old court house in the middle of February. Apparently the interior design is basically still same old same old as the previous Magenta.

The food we ordered that night. I ordered Lamb Shank and he ordered Chicken Chop.

For drinks, we ordered a root beer and cuppucino. The total bill that dinner is RM80.30 for two persons. (Total inclusive of 10% service charge)

Personal opinion, you can come and dine here during special occasion but not too frequent. With the high living standard and sky-rocketing inflation, it's better for you to invest/save the money. ;)

Officially starting from today, I hate chinese tradition.

I mean, what are all those nonsense about? Why can't we just follow our own thinking, our own liking, own own preference, our own choice?

Just for the sake of tradition, I have to follow your instruction, I have to do this, I need to do that just to please other people or to fulfill certain rules & regulations which the creator had long been dead and nobody even know the name of that person.

I'm so in the mood to scold bad words and swear.

Why can't the new generation do whatever they want and wish? Kns, just because all the other people are doing that also? Stupid and unreasonable.

I especially hate it when I'm lead by the ear to live my life, rather than my own heart telling me what to do. Things are suppose to be wonderful, but in the end, it's just doing for the sake of doing. The enjoyment, happiness is not there anymore.

But what can I do? In the end I can only give in to the all-mighty tradition.

However, after this, I will live life the way I WANT it. Not your words, his words, her words, nor the tradition, the culture.

City Herberge Hotel @ Dresden

This is the hotel we stayed overnight while staying at Dresden: City Hergerge Hotel. Took us some time to find our hotel. Basically this is more like a 3-star hotel. The security of the hotel room is not that great as it's using the normal knob that our household is using. But at least the room is spacious, unlike the hotel we stay at Munich, small yet expensive.

The bathroom cum toilet. The only thing I dislike having bath during Germany stay is that once you finished your hot bath and came out to get dress, you starting to feel cold again due to the weather.

I single-handedly choose the single bed and my bed for the night. Haha..

This is the double bed my two pretty colleagues are sharing.

Overall, I'm statisfy with my stay at Dresden. I will definitely recommend people to visit here.

1st Dinner at Dresden

On the first night at Dresden, we walked around the City and decided to had our dinner at this restaurant called XFresh.

This is the drink i ordered. I had to admit, it is the most SOUR lemon juice I ever had in my whole life. I don't think I manage to finish half cup of it. The reason I drank half of it is because it's a HOT drink and the weather is cold.

My Department Annual Dinner

This year, we decided to have our department dinner at One Jaya, Bukit Mata Restaurant. This is my first time here although I knew about this restaurant for some times.

The food we ordered that night. I think the pricing there is very reasonable. We ordered 7 main dishes (for 10 persons) and 3 small dishes for vegetarian + fruit juices. The total price is only RM280. Reasonable. I will definitely promote this place to other people, however, food wise, it's a bit on the oily side.

Besides that, since we have leftover budget, each of us from our department get a RM10 Parkson voucher + a small gift for those who attended the dinner. ;)

5 carats Diamond proposal ring

This year marked a new chapter for my life.

One special night before the coming of 2011, Ah Phui trying to act secretive and trying to give me a surprise.

He cracked his head and thought of a suitable place, then kneel down on one knee, and asked for my hand of marriage.

Then, he presented to me, my engagement ring, the one and only 5-Carats diamond ring. Lol~

A ring big enough to let everyone know I'm truly engaged. Lol...

I'm sorry. It's not that I'm super duper busy with work or anything. Just that I'm lazy to update my blog at the moment. I noticed the last scheduled blog was a week ago, which is regarding the orchestra that I attended while I'm at Dresden.

I think the weather is partly to be blamed too for my laziness. haha.. The bed just feels sooooo nice to lie down and stay there the whole time. At the same time, I'm busy watching the series Lies to Me S2.

I promised after my laziness bug is gone, I will be more hardworking in updating my blog. Till then, enjoy the nice weather and have a big Monday Blues.
